High-Pressure Line Cleaning

Hydro Jetting in Clearwater, FL

When a drain is coated rather than plugged, high-pressure water restores the pipe's full diameter instead of punching a narrow hole through the buildup.

How jetting works

What hydro jetting in Clearwater FL actually does to a pipe

A cable opens a path. Hydro jetting in Clearwater, FL cleans the whole wall of the pipe.

A jetter sends water through a specialized nozzle at high pressure. Forward-facing jets break up the obstruction, while rear-facing jets pull the hose along the line and wash everything they loosen back toward the cleanout. What comes out is grease, scale, sand, sludge and root hair, not just the plug that stopped the flow.

That matters in Clearwater because so much of the mainland still drains through cast iron from the 1950s to the 1970s. Those pipes build up a rough crust on the inside. Snaking them leaves the crust in place, which is why the same line keeps blocking. Proper jetting strips that crust away and can buy real time on a line you are not ready to replace.

We do not jet blind. On older pipe, we run a camera first. If the wall has thinned too far, jetting is the wrong tool, and we will tell you so and recommend a repair instead.

Choosing a method

Jetting versus snaking a Clearwater drain

Cable snaking

  • Good for a single hard blockage near a fixture
  • Quick and less equipment on site
  • Leaves grease and scale on the pipe wall
  • Repeat clogs are common in coated lines

Hydro jetting

  • Cleans the full circumference of the pipe
  • Removes grease, scale, sand and root hair
  • Keeps lines clear longer between service calls
  • Pressure adjusted to suit the pipe material

Where we use it

Clearwater lines that benefit most from jetting

  • Restaurant kitchen lines

Grease builds up quickly in commercial kitchens downtown and along the main corridors. Scheduled jetting is cheaper than an emergency during service. See our commercial plumbing in Clearwater page.

  • Older cast iron mains

Scale-crusted laterals on the mainland, where repeated snaking has stopped working.

  • Condo and rental stacks

Shared lines in beach-side buildings that carry heavy, irregular use from guests.

  • Root-affected joints

Root-cutting nozzles clear the mass back to the pipe wall so a camera can show the joint clearly.

Our process

A hydro jetting visit, start to finish

  1. Camera the line

We look inside first to confirm what is there and that the pipe can take the pressure.

  2. Quote the job

You get an upfront price before the jetter comes off the truck.

  3. Jet from the cleanout

We work the line in sections at a pressure matched to the material, flushing debris out as we go.

  4. Verify with the camera

A final pass shows you the cleaned pipe, and any defects that need attention later.

Clearwater questions

Hydro Jetting in Clearwater: common questions

Is hydro jetting safe for older cast iron pipes in Clearwater?

In sound pipe, yes, and pressure is set for the material. Much of Clearwater's cast iron is now old enough that we camera it before deciding. If the wall has lost too much thickness or the bottom has corroded through, we will recommend a repair or lining rather than jetting a pipe that cannot take it.

How often should a Clearwater restaurant or rental property be jetted?

Ordinary households rarely need a schedule. Restaurants, rentals and multi-unit buildings often do, because grease and heavy use coat lines quickly. We usually camera the line, see how fast buildup forms, and suggest an interval based on what we find. For general background, our hydro jetting overview explains the method in more detail.

Does hydro jetting get rid of tree roots for good?

It clears them back to the pipe wall, but roots grow back through the same open joint. Jetting is the first step. Once the line is clean, a camera shows the entry point, and a spot repair or lining is what keeps them out long term.

Is hydro jetting messy inside the house?

No. We work from an outdoor cleanout or another access point wherever possible, so the jetter hose and the debris it flushes stay outside. If a line can only be reached from inside, we protect floors with drop cloths and shoe covers, and we leave the area as clean as we found it.
