Hot water, start to finish
Water heater services for the whole life of the unit
Most people only think about the water heater the morning the shower runs cold. A little attention before then goes a long way.
Our water heater services cover the full lifecycle: routine flushing and checkups, repairs to elements, thermostats, gas controls, valves and connections, and new installations when a unit reaches the end of its life. We service, repair and install both tank and tankless water heaters, gas and electric, from all major brands.
Water in much of our region is hard, and that is the single biggest factor in how long a heater lasts here. Minerals settle at the bottom of a tank as sediment, insulating the water from the burner or coating electric elements. The heater works harder, gets noisier and wears out sooner. Tankless units scale up inside the heat exchanger in the same way.
This page is about planned work: maintenance, repairs and replacements you can schedule. If your tank is leaking or you have no hot water at all right now, go straight to our emergency water heater replacement page or call (941) 541-7473, day or night.

- Water temperature swings between too hot and lukewarm
- A tankless unit showing error codes or shutting off mid-shower
What we do
Repair, maintenance and installation
Water heater repair
Elements, thermostats, gas valves, igniters, thermocouples, relief valves and leaking connections diagnosed and replaced.
Tank flushing
Sediment drained from the bottom of the tank to restore efficiency and quiet the popping noises.
Tankless descaling
Heat exchangers flushed to remove mineral scale, plus inlet filter cleaning and error-code troubleshooting.
Anode rod checks
The sacrificial rod that protects a tank from corrosion inspected and replaced when it is used up.
New tank installation
Correctly sized gas or electric tanks installed with new connections, relief valve piping and a full test.
Tankless installation
Gas or electric tankless units sized to your household's peak demand, including conversions from a tank.
Choosing a replacement
Tank vs. tankless water heaters
Neither is right for every home. Here is how they compare.
Tank water heater
- Stores a set volume of heated water, ready at any tap
- Lower upfront cost and simpler installation
- Can run out during back-to-back showers
- Needs periodic flushing to clear hard-water sediment
- Takes up more floor space in the garage or closet
Tankless water heater
- Heats water on demand, so it does not run out
- Wall-mounted and compact
- Higher upfront cost; gas units may need venting or gas line changes
- Must be sized for how many fixtures run at once
- Needs regular descaling in hard water areas
What affects the cost of water heater work
For repairs, cost depends on the part and the fuel type. For replacements, the main factors are tank versus tankless, gas versus electric, capacity, where the unit sits and whether venting, gas, electrical or water connections need to change. A like-for-like tank swap is simpler than converting to tankless.

Our process
How a water heater visit works
Diagnose
We check the controls, elements or burner, relief valve, connections, sediment level and the age and condition of the tank or exchanger.
Repair or replace?
You get an honest recommendation and an upfront price for each reasonable option.
Do the work
Repairs are made, or the old unit is drained and disconnected and the new one installed and connected.
Test and explain
We confirm temperature, check for leaks and show you the shut-off and how to care for the unit.
Maintenance
Getting more years out of your water heater
In hard water, regular flushing is the most effective maintenance you can do for a tank, and descaling does the same job for tankless units. Keep the area around the heater clear, set the thermostat to a comfortable but not scalding temperature, and glance at the base and fittings now and then for moisture or rust.
If the relief valve drips, do not cap it; it is a safety device telling you something. Call us instead. Redemption Family Plan members get an annual plumbing inspection, priority scheduling and discounts on repairs, which makes it easy to keep the water heater on a routine check.
Other parts of the house can affect hot water too. A shower that swings hot and cold may be a valve problem rather than the heater, which our shower and tub plumbers can sort out.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
How often should a water heater be flushed?
In hard water areas like ours, a tank heater generally benefits from a flush about once a year, and tankless units need periodic descaling on a similar routine. Homes with very hard water or heavy use may need it more often. We can look at the sediment level and recommend a schedule for your unit.
Is it worth repairing an older water heater?
It depends on what failed. A thermostat, element, igniter or valve is usually worth replacing. A leak from the tank itself cannot be repaired, and a unit near the end of its expected life with heavy corrosion is usually better replaced. We give you both prices when both make sense.
Why does my hot water run out so quickly?
In a tank heater, sediment can take up space and insulate the water from the heat source, and a failed lower element in an electric unit cuts usable hot water sharply. It can also simply mean the tank is undersized for the household. A tankless unit that cannot keep up may be undersized or scaled.
Do you work on all water heater brands?
Yes. We service, repair and install tank and tankless water heaters from all major brands, both gas and electric. If parts for an older or uncommon model are hard to find, we will tell you and explain replacement options.
