Toilet repair in Carrollwood, FL often happens under the toilet
The parts inside the tank are easy. What makes a toilet leak or rock again is usually the connection to the floor.
Most toilet complaints come down to a short list: the flapper, the fill valve, the wax seal and the supply line. Replacing the right one fixes the problem in a single visit. But in older Carrollwood homes, especially in Original Carrollwood, the toilet often sits on a cast iron closet flange that has corroded over the decades. A new wax ring on a rusted, broken flange will not hold, and the toilet starts rocking or seeping at the base again within months.
That is why every toilet repair in Carrollwood, FL we take on includes checking the flange, the seal and the supply stop, not just the part that obviously failed. If the flange is damaged, we repair or replace it so the new seal has something solid to compress against.
We also install new toilets of every common type, including comfort-height and high-efficiency models, and we are happy to set a toilet you have already bought.

Carrollwood questions
Toilet Repair & Installation in Carrollwood: common questions
Why does my toilet still rock after a new wax ring was installed?
The wax ring only seals; it does not hold the toilet steady. Rocking usually means the closet flange underneath is broken, corroded or set too low, or the floor is uneven. Each time the toilet moves, the seal is crushed a little more. Repairing the flange and shimming the base fixes it for good.
What is a closet flange and why does it fail in older homes?
It is the fitting on the floor that the toilet bolts to and that connects to the drain. In older homes it was often cast iron, which rusts over time until the bolt slots break away. Repair rings or a new flange restore a solid base for the toilet and seal.
Why does my toilet run for a few seconds on its own?
That is called phantom filling. Water is slowly leaking from the tank into the bowl, usually past a worn flapper, until the fill valve tops it up. Replacing the flapper normally solves it. Left alone, it wastes water quietly every day.
Can you install a toilet I bought myself?
Yes. We remove the old toilet, check and repair the flange if needed, set the new one on a fresh seal, connect a new supply line and test several flushes for leaks. We will let you know beforehand if anything about the new toilet will not suit the space.
