Shower and tub plumbing in Apollo Beach, inside and out
Behind every shower and tub is a mixing valve, supply lines, a drain and an overflow, and each fails in its own way.
Most calls for shower and tub plumbing in Apollo Beach, FL start with a symptom: a drip from the spout, a temperature swing, a slow drain or a stain on the ceiling below. Each one points to a different part of the system, so we check the valve, supply and drain before anything is taken apart.
Apollo Beach adds a feature most inland homes do not have. Outdoor showers by the pool, dock or garage are popular here, and salt air is hard on them. Exposed valves seize, supply lines corrode and fittings start weeping. We rebuild and replace them with parts better suited to coastal exposure.
Inside, many newer homes came with builder-grade valves that wear quickly. Upgrading to a quality pressure-balanced cartridge is a small job that makes a real difference to comfort and safety.

Apollo Beach questions
Shower & Tub Plumbing in Apollo Beach: common questions
Can you fix a leaking shower valve without removing the tile?
In most cases, yes. The cartridge and many valve parts can be serviced through the trim opening or an access panel on the other side of the wall. We only open tile when there is truly no other way, and if that happens we keep the opening as small as possible and explain why beforehand.
Why does my shower suddenly turn hot or cold?
When someone flushes a toilet or runs a tap, the pressure on one side of your shower supply drops. A worn or older valve cannot compensate, so the temperature swings. A pressure-balancing cartridge keeps the mix steady and protects against scalding, and it is usually a straightforward replacement.
How do I keep an outdoor shower from corroding near the water?
Rinse the fixtures with fresh water now and then, shut off and drain the supply if the home will sit empty for a while, and replace corroded parts before they seize. When we rebuild an outdoor shower we use fittings suited to coastal exposure. Our shower and bathtub services page covers more options.
Do you plumb tub-to-shower conversions?
Yes. We relocate the drain and valve to suit the new layout, rough everything in to code and test it before the walls are closed and tiled. Getting the plumbing right at this stage matters, because fixing a leak after tile and glass are in is far more expensive.
Why is my shower pressure weak when the rest of the house is fine?
If only one shower is affected, mineral scale in the showerhead or a clogged cartridge is the usual cause. Unscrew the head and soak it in vinegar to see if flow improves. If it does not, the cartridge or the valve behind the wall may be restricting flow, which is a straightforward repair once we have looked at it.
